I felt like an explorer witnessing some bizarre tribalritual. More often it was just an arbitrary series of hoops to jumpthrough, words without content designed mainly for testability. As used by adults, itseemed to mean keeping your mouth shut.

Nerds still in school should not hold their breath. Its hard to find successful adults now who dont claimto have been nerds in high school. Teenage kids, even rebels, dont like to be alone, so when kids optout of the system, they tend to do it as a group.

Any immediate improvement in nerds lives is probably going to have tocome from the nerds themselves. They also need to keep them fed, and as far as possibleprevent them from killing one another.
